Sailing on the Chesapeake Bay

The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay will be hosting it’s annual Business Forum on November 10 in Baltimore.  This is a great opportunities for businesses in the Bay Watershed to meet with key federal and state leaders to understand new developments and opportunities impacting the restoration of the Bay.   Register now for the forum here.  Registration ends at noon on Friday, Nov 6.

The Forum’s keynote speaker will be Ken Ulman, Chief Strategy Officer for Economic Development at the University of Maryland, College Park and President of Margrave Strategies, and former Howard County Executive.  He will be joined by Chesapeake Bay Program Director Nicholas DiPasquale, Maryland Department of the Environment Secretary Ben Grumbles, regional business leaders, and others who will come together to share strategies and successes.

Gather with other business leaders, from organizations both large and small, to network and learn more about environmental sustainability goals, challenges and successes, identify needs, develop sustainable solutions, and kickoff the Businesses for the Bay program.

Also, businesses in the Bay Watershed should consider the value of joining the Alliance’s Businesses for the Bay (B4B) which is a program designed by businesses for businesses. Its mission is to encourage businesses throughout the Chesapeake region to find voluntary, innovative, and measurable solutions to improve water quality and the health of the Chesapeake Bay, and to raise public understanding of the valuable role these business members play in the Bay restoration. This program provides businesses with a forum where they can make their voices heard, share best practices, facilitate environmental stewardship volunteer opportunities for employees, and promote environmental efforts that are important to them, their customers, and their communities.  For more details, contact Corrine Stephens, Alliance Business Partnerships Manager, at cstephens@allianceforthebay.org.
